Post by NaturalistDesigns » Sat Aug 07, 2010 12:19 pm

Okay I got really bored - and wanted to try my hand at making natural looking dreads.

I like the crinkly texture. I bet they're nice and light. did you palm roll these at all?

I did :( it doesn't look like it which is frustrating. They feel really light - I'm going to install these with some brown ones I'm doing :)

I really like the texture as well but I'm not too keen on the ends. I'd like to see them installed though.

I'll try and get them in asap :)

I'm not sure what to do with the ends - as some of the hair was quite difficult to backcomb and it was tough to seal when I got it before

I wonder if they will hold up... How stiff are they?

If you have a heat setting on your straighteners, set it to the lowest setting and straighten the ends :) this is what I do and it turns out quite nicely so its not all frizzy :)

Other than that they look great! x

They aren't stiff at all - in fact they are very "floppy"

Love them, how did you do to get that crinkly texture? :o I'm planning to make a natural set for myself soon, and I would love to have some that look like this :)

I braided them together before sticking them into the washing machine :)

I have done that once, but I dipped them in boiling water, and they got really ultra wavy, but I will definitely try this method the next time! Thanks ^_^
