whats best for installing?looped or double enders?

Post by Aesthetik_Mind » Fri Jul 23, 2010 1:03 pm

I am going to be buying some dreads that are eventually going to be installed in my hair.
My hair is about 6 inches long and black.
Im going to have them installed by someone that hasnt worked with synthetic premade dreads but has put extentions in hair before.
Should i go with looped?? or double enders?
I also dont want too much volume
your suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks :D

i personally find both ok to install, but if you dont want that much volume id go for single enders (looped).

for single enders you may need a crochet hook to pull your hair through the loop.

I find them both equally easy to install(on myself). You might consider using DE's around the front top, and sides and SE's underneath. This helps cover the braids of the SE's when wearing hair down(along the part) or in an updo(on front and side hairline).

I find SE dreads better, easier get tightly braided IMO.

This question comes up at least once a month so there's tons of threads on this if you want to use the search function for more info and if you look in the Synthetic Dreads section you could probably find them just by going through the pages. This isn't really the right sub-forum for this question so you won't find many threads about it in here.

If you want less volume and for them to be more manageable go for SE's and like IPA said they are much easier to braid in the hair tightly and they dont stick out as much as DE's do... Though it really does depend how they are made and wether the middle is twisted or left loose if you were to go for DE's.

Hope this helps :) x
