My 4th try at Dreads *edited with installation pics*

Post by MrsRobotic » Tue Mar 23, 2010 10:56 pm

Hello all
I hang around for a long time in this forum, but I've never registered. I have learned quite a lot of you and I have seen so many beautiful dreads that I just had to try it for myself. This is now my fourth set, a total of 25 short, 25 medium and 6 long dreads for my mohawk. This time I am so pleased with the result that I had to register in order to show it, so I know what you think about it. I would be happy about a few tips or suggestions for improvement. I apologize in advance for my bad english. I hope everything makes sense.

Thank you for watching

PS: I will be editing with a few pictures of the installation, after I re-dyed my fringe ;)

*Edit*
After I finally recharged the battery of my digital camera, here are a few pictures of the installation. Please remember that I wear the dreads for a whole month now. They are now looking a bit worn out, but I am still very happy with it. My dreads have never been that good before. Looks like I'm making progress (I hope ^ ^). Normally my dreads unraveled a bit, or became fluffy. This time they have remained pretty well. Unfortunately the pics are a bit blurry. :|
Here are the pictures ... let me know what you think.

I ran out of red dye, when my hair was still red it matched the dreads perfectly.

I have not managed to shoot a photo of the back side of my head which shows the full length

And here is a close-up from the ends. From the last set I had forgotten it, unfortunately, so I photographed a few dreads of the new set I'm working on.

I think the purple hair is not really 100% kanekalon to. The hair shines very strange and is very hard to backcomb. But after sealing they hold just as well as 100% Kanekalon dreads. I do not know exactly what to think of it. :? Excuse this large post. Again I hope my english is not too bad and everything makes sense.

Thx for looking

OOOO I love the colors! Nice stuff.
I always wanted to be someone. But only now do I realise...I should've been more specific .

I really love the styles you used here. They look awesome!

The only thing I would suggest is backcombing a little bit more, although it may be the lighting making them shine.

Do you have a closeup of the ends? That's the part that most people struggle with.

first of all, theres nothing wrong with your english lady! :)

i think the dreads look great, a bit more backcombing maybe and youll be there
but otherwise, youre definiately on the right track!

i love the way you have accented them with the black too, really nice!

From the old set I did not, unfortunately, so I've now uploaded a few of the new set ;)

Thank you very much. I am often so insecure with my english. I always think no one understands me

I'll mind your advices for the next sets I make. Thank you muchly for it! I'll try to backcomb much more next time. I'm always so impatient with it ^ ^
