New style

Post by *,meme,* » Fri Jan 29, 2010 2:27 am

So, after recieving my dreads from LS7 i fell in love. Its too bad that se is retired and only selling the occasional premades. So i decided to try a go at her style, BUT i do not want to copy her style, just take it and modify it to make it my own.

Thus far here is what i have come up with.
My first 3 tries.

Im really proud and very much in love with them, more than my regular dreads.

I welcome all constructive criticism.
Please no snide remarks about copying, i made them my own.

onward to the pictures.

i see a good mix. i see how you took ls's shaping and wild mix of colors and your touch is that they are smooth while ls's are very textured. i like them. ild like to see more and installs ;)

I think that the super thick ones still need more work/backcombing because of the obvious cracks but the thinner ones are looking good.

I'm not a fan of thick dreads, but I do love those colours! awesome work.

I really like them - they're not total LS7 copies so you've done well there. The colours are great as well!

These are not copies at all, they're very pretty!
I love how they're messy and swirled and splashed and everything!!
Didn't they take a looong time to make? :O

Fabby-licious dreads lady! Well done! I don't know who LS7 is(Is LS7 an abbrev. for another members name or website please?) I'm afraid, so can not give you an opinion there, but do love the mixture of colours you have used and very neat too. I likey!! :D
I'm likened to a mixture of Little Miss Naughty, Little Miss Chatterbox and Little Miss Sunshine!! Apparently! :0)

They look great! I can see how they look similar to LS7 but not so much that it appears to be a copy. Funny enough they look a lot like my attempts at fatter dreads and attempts with trying to work at LS7 type dreads.
One suggestion that I've found has been working for me (sorry no photos yet) is to work with 3 colors together but mix the colors (so that if you're working with black, white and red, for example you have 3 sections of hair but each section has one, two or all three of the colors) backcomb your sections & then sloppily braid them together before sealing. Then after you've sealed them (I pass them through at least twice) you get a really random color mash up.
I hope that made sense
